The aim of this qualification is to develop the learners’ knowledge, understanding and practical skills when completing Ultrasound Cavitation treatments for fat removal and to improve the appearance of cellulite.
Learners will acquire skills in providing a thorough consultation to establish client suitability for treatment and also the knowledge on how to formulate treatment protocol to suit individual client’s needs. Learners will also be able to provide the client with relevant aftercare to maximize treatment results and look after their skin post-treatment.

Learners will also be able to provide the client with relevant aftercare to maximize treatment results and look after their skin post-treatment.
Learners must achieve the following mandatory unit:
Duration: As part of this qualification, there will be a combination of ongoing theory-base home study and practical to 6- 8 weeks to complete (once a week)
Learners are required to complete all assessment requirements related to this unit:
External theory examinations: (on site multiple choices)
Theory examinations are externally set and externally marked by the awarding organisation.
Retaking external theory examinations
Learners who fail to achieve the required Pass mark are permitted to re-sit after having sufficient teaching and additional study time.
External practical examination: one day -on site for practical examination
Retaking external practical examination
There is no limit to the number of retakes a learner can carry out.

Clinical case studies
Learners must produce a treatment portfolio which is required to be completed under the supervision of a lecturer who must monitor the quality of the treatments performed throughout the learner’s training, to ensure that they meet the given criteria. All clinical case studies must be completed and marked prior to the learner completing the practical and theoretical examinations.
Learners must complete a minimum of 6 clinical case studies. Each case study needs to include a full medical history of the client, advanced skin/body assessment, before and after pictures and a full description of the area to be treated including body type and conditions. A detailed description of the application techniques used, machine settings, current intensity and duration of treatment must also be provided. Each case study must also include an evaluation of the treatment and its outcomes.
What could this qualification lead to?
The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment in the advanced aesthetic industry providing ultrasound techniques. Additionally, learners may choose to further develop their knowledge and skills by completing supplementary specialist qualifications at level 4 in one or more of the following areas:
Passion for aesthetics and commitment to excellence. Prior qualifications in beauty therapy or related fields advantageous but not mandatory. Open to individuals with diverse backgrounds and aspirations in the beauty and medical aesthetics industries.
