Build on your Level 4 foundation and advance into the world of non-surgical skin rejuvenation with the VTCT Level 5 Certificate in Non-surgical Aesthetic Procedures for Skin Rejuvenation. This Ofqual-regulated qualification is designed for qualified practitioners who are ready to specialise in advanced procedures such as advanced chemical peels, microneedling, mesotherapy and LED phototherapy.
Delivered by ALITA, a trusted VTCT-approved aesthetics academy, this qualification focuses on treatment excellence, complication management,and professional clinical standards preparing you for progression to Level 7 Aesthetic Injectable Procedures.
By completing this Level 5 Aesthetics Course, you’ll master the technical, clinical and theoretical skills required to perform advanced non-surgical aesthetic procedures safely and confidently.
You’ll study the following mandatory units:
Principles of Non-Surgical Aesthetic Procedures
Understand the ethical, professional, and regulatory principles behind advanced aesthetics practice.
Client Assessment for Non-Surgical Aesthetic Procedures
Learn to conduct in-depth client consultations, risk assessments, and treatment planning.
Advanced Skin Science for Non-Surgical Aesthetic Procedures
Deepen your understanding of skin physiology and advanced dermatological considerations.
Complication Management and Emergency Planning
Develop the knowledge to identify, prevent, and manage treatment complications, including emergency response procedures.
Provide Advanced Chemical Peels for Skin Rejuvenation
Master medium-depth peels and chemical formulations to target complex skin concerns.
Provide Advanced Skin Needling Procedures for Skin Rejuvenation
Learn professional microneedling techniques at an advanced clinical level.
Provide Needle Mesotherapy Procedures for Skin Rejuvenation and Hair Restoration
Gain hands-on expertise in needle mesotherapy for facial rejuvenation and scalp treatments.
Provide Light Emitting Diode (LED) Phototherapy for Skin Rejuvenation
Understand the therapeutic use of LED light to enhance skin recovery and results.
Your learning and skills will be assessed through a combination of:
External theory examinations (multiple-choice)
Short Answer Response (SAR) assignments
Formative case studies and treatment portfolios
Observed practical assessments in advanced skin treatments
All assessments are graded Pass/Fail and verified through VTCT’s quality assurance process.
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive your VTCT Level 5 Certificate in Non-surgical Aesthetic Procedures for Skin Rejuvenation — a nationally recognised and Ofqual-regulated qualification.
Learners must complete a portfolio of case studies before final assessments.
This includes:
The required number of case studies per treatment type (microneedling, mesotherapy, advanced peels, LED phototherapy).
Consultation and aftercare documentation for each client.
Evidence of complication management and treatment planning.
Your portfolio will be reviewed and verified by qualified assessors and internal quality assurers to meet VTCT standards.
This qualification runs over 15 weeks.
You’ll attend one teaching day per week (10am – 5pm) at the academy for practical and theory sessions, with additional guided home study and online learning to complete your total qualification time.
By completing this Level 5 Aesthetics Course, you’ll master the technical, clinical and theoretical skills required to perform advanced non-surgical aesthetic procedures safely and confidently.
You must hold:
A VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic Therapies for Skin Rejuvenation (or equivalent).
A Level 3 Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis qualification.
Learners must also be 18 years or older.
